Puerto Rico Te Quiero, Nike remembers Puerto Rican Influence and Culture

To celebrate the National Puerto Rican Day Parade, NIKE has annouced its newest drop. As a reminder, National Puerto Rican Day Parade is this June 14th and will host a series of events and festival like activities.

The main goal of the parade is to ‘create awareness and build appreciation of Puerto Rican culture and history, as well as to highlight our community’s contributions to the global society says the parades event team.

As part of larger, global celebrations, this show highlights Nikes, commitment towards embracing all cultures, using sneakers as a form of expression.

This year’s theme is for the ‘NPRDP’…’Under the theme Un Pueblo, Muchas Voces (One Nation, Many Voices).

According to the official parade website, “The National Puerto Rican Day Parade (NPRDP) is the largest demonstration of cultural pride in the nation.  Now in its 63rd year, the parade takes place from 44th Street to 79th Street along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, in honor of the 3.5 million inhabitants of Puerto Rico and over 5 million people residing in the United States.”
